The Offshore & Engineering Division operates the world's largest offshore yard, covering 215 acres. Dominating the yard's skyline is the world's largest gantry crane, at 1600 tons, used to handle huge offshore structural blocks.

HHI's involvement in offshore structures began with a Saudi Arabian order for 89 jackets and deck structures for the Open Sea Tanker Terminal for the Jubail Industrial Harbor Projects. Since 1991, Offshore & Engineering Division of HHI has grown as a world leading EPIC Contractor who fully provides integrated services such as Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Transportation, Installation, Offshore Hook-up and Commissioning and Project management. Offshore & Engineering Division of HHI has successfully completed more than 150 projects including over 100 EPCI projects for oil and gas industry worldwide.

The Division has completed 3 million metric tons of offshore facilities and 5100 killometers of subsea pipelines in 49 projects for more than 30 clients worldwide.

The Division has developed innovative technologies to construct large offshore structures within the shipyard without using dry-docks.

HHI's "On-ground Build" method has been used in the construction of drilling rigs and other huge offshore facilities. In 2002, when it lifted the 12,000 ton topside for the Nakika FPU Project ordered by Shell, the US-based oil company, HHI's innovative lifting technique, Super-Lift, was registered in the Guinness Book of World Records.
